The Wind S.S.W. and very moderate, but cold & chilly all the? morning; the Evening very calm and warm & all the day was Sun shiny and dry: was to day at Cemaes where I bought 22 pieces of round Oak timber containing, z of which contained 82 feet of Solid square feet at 13d. 2/1 a foot & 5 other pieces I bought by the lump for 9s. 6d. and the money I paid for the whole came to 5 pounds 1s. 9d. Pd. 18d. for a quarter of Veal, & 14d. it cost me for the Servants & horses that fetched Ann Wright & her Sister Grace home from Beaumares School.

The Wind E. blowing fresh in the Morning, hot and scorching; The Evening calm and very hot: About 4 in ye Evening I went to Thomas Sion Rolant`s house (the Fuller of Cefn Côch ) who teaches Psalm Singing in this parish and sings with them every Sunday & holy day, I went to his house I say, where a great number of the parishioners & some of other parishes had met to drink his Ale, and to give him what they thought proper; some more some less according to their Circumstances & inclinations: I gave him 10s. & 1s. for Hugh ab Wm. Gabriel, a boy that attends the Stable & who is going to him to be taught . pd. besides 6d. for Ale, & was at home soon after 9.

Davies to LLysdulas to see My Brother Lewis who I was told yesterday was very sick, God of his Mercy grant I may hear of his recovery, being my onely old & faith full friend - now left me in my Old age ! Upon the return of William Davies I found the report was altogether false & that he was preparing to go on Horseback to LLanerchmedd to prepare for Miss Jane LLoyd`s Burying (he being her executor ) which is be too Morrow privately. Extraordinary and unusuall weather for cold & blasts in this time of the year! it made such a thick hoar frost last night that it blasted & blackened My Mulberry Trees & the Potatoes, And what is wonderfull My Orange Tree was not hurt: Paid for 5 Gallons of Brandy 2i shillings at the rate of 4s. 3d. a Gallon.
