Y Tywyddiadur

Prif nodwedd y gronfa hon yw'r dyddiad, mis neu'r flwyddyn penodol sydd yn sail i'ch cofnod. Mae'r tywydd wrth gwrs yn rhywbeth sydd yn digwydd "rwan", pryd bynnag yw neu oedd "rwan" i'r cofnodwr gwreiddiol; y bore yma efallai, diwrnod arbennig yn eich plentyndod, neu sylw mewn dyddiadur dwy ganrif yn ôl yn sir Feirionnydd.... efallai. Neu efallai bod cysylltiad y sylw a'r tywydd yn ymddangosiadol wan iawn: tylluan wen yn hela am dri o'r gloch y prynhawn ar ddyddiad arbennig o Chwefror; clywed y gog yn canu ddiwedd mis Mawrth; teilo cae at datws ddechrau’r gwanwyn. Tywydd....? efallai! Ffenoleg...? yn bendant.

Mae'r Tywyddiadur yn rhyngweithiol - hynny yw, mi allwch rhoi gwybodaeth i fewn iddo, neu chael gwybodaeth allan. Y cam cyntaf y byddwch yn cymryd wrth fentro ar y dudalen hon felly fydd dewis pa un rydych am ei wneud.... Chwilio ynteu Mewnbynnu (blychod chwilio ar y chwith mewn glas, blychod mewnbynnu ar y dde mewn coch).

(Ewch i’r gwaelod am ganllawiau cychwynnol).

CHWILIO: Chi biau’r dewis: mis neu gyfnod arbennig efallai, blwyddyn, gair (neu ddau air), neu ddiwrnod penodol (treiwch ddyddiad eich pen-blwydd). Cewch wneud cyfuniad o rhain.

MEWNBYNNU: Trwy fewnbynnu cewch ychwanegu at y gronfa a chreu adnodd mwy cynhwysfawr fyth i ymchwilwyr fel chi. Dim ond tri amod sydd ar eich cofnod: ei fod yn cynnwys rhyw fath o ddyddiad, lleoliad (bras neu fanwl), a bod y cofnod rhywfodd yn gysylltiedig â’r amgylchedd.

A very wet day. It was fine when I started from Llanderfel by the 10.40 train homewards but it turned out a wretched day. I was detained at Llanuchllyn some time, owing to the up train. that is to say two carriages of it, leaving the line, and our engine was required to help to get them on again. I got home about 1 o`clock, and notwithstanding the rain, I took a walk with my gun and Kate, behind Caerynwch moor, and saw 5 snipe - killing two - but I unfortunately lost one of them. I got home about 5 o`clock - very wet. Caerynwch hills Jack Snipe 1. Woodpigeon 1.

It was very wet this morning, but cleared up. I went with John Davies and two dogs up to Corsygarnedd; and enjoyed a good walk. We found just two coveys of partridges, but of course they were tolerably wild. I had a shot at Woodcock, which got up as I was clambering down some rocks, and although we hunted for the bird we failed to flush it again. We also saw three snipe and two hares. i returned about 5`o`clock and after dinner started to Chester, en route for London by the Mails. Corsygarnedd. Partridge 3. Hare 1. Rabbit 1. Snipe 1.

Ashley and I breakfasted at 8.30; and then played raquets till 10.15; when we went on to Garden wood, and shot part of that covert; but we did not do much. Ashley then left me, and I tried some partridge driving, but this proved a great failure, and I did not get a really fair chance. I went back at 1.15; as the school children of Pluckeley and Little chart were entertained at tea at 4 o`clock, and afterwards to the two Xmas trees in the Ball room were shown. About 230 children were present, and the evening`s amusement went off with great success. Afterwards the visitors who had helped, were entertained to a tea dinner at 7 o`clock. Garden Woods & Ashley and C.M.E. Pheasants 1. Hares 1. Rabbits 4.

The beagles had their last day on Chilton Downs… It was a bright day, but the wind was too cold and drying to expect much sport. However we soon found [?] No.1 who gave us a good run up the hill; but she was headed by some men on horseback, and we lost her. A brace of Hares now some gorse gave us no better sport… when gone away was the cry, and the hounds being laid on she gave us a pretty [ring] under Gore hill and back to the gorse near last [?] from which a fox hole; and the hounds being laid on: we [?] towards a covert… We had not much more time, but found another hare; and she gave us a sharp burst towards Chilton: but being headed we lost her; but started either the same hare or another [?] sauce gorse: and the hounds went like blazes, until Goddard whipped them off in a county full of [bares?] Thus ended a hard, but pleasant day…

Heavy snow had fallen this morning and we had showers all through the day- but it became much warmer during the afternoon. I first of all tried Llyn Cynwch: but that was no good, and I then came down to the river- but it was full of snow water and I could do no good: [?] about five small trout…and then walked round up the road to the top of the [torrent?] and so back by the Brithdir road, as I was coming down by John Ellis Cottage: I [flushed/hushed] a woodcock; and so I went for Kinsey and a gun: and although we flushed him twice, I did not get a shot. I soon came down to the river; and fished; down from the crooked pool and partly to the torrent. The trout were inclined to take a bit. Trout (Wnion Clwedog) 37

It was rather warmer the wind being more southerly, but there was fresh snow on the mountains. I determined to go with John Davies above the falls of the Mawddach, so we drove to Tyn y Groes; and then walked up. We began very badly as the river was full of snow water, and high: and I only rose 3 fish before lunch. Catching two. And John had one with worm. After lunch I walked right up above the wood, but found the wind bitterly cold: and a heavy rain came on. I tried worm, and caught about four trout; and then walked down again and joined John. The river began to rise rapidly; and we fished one way down to the bridge. And when we gave up at 6:30 we had a nice basket of 30 trout. I caught 19 and John 11. I raw back to Tyn y Groes being awfully wet… Trout (Mawddach) 30
