Prif nodwedd y gronfa hon yw'r dyddiad, mis neu'r flwyddyn penodol sydd yn sail i'ch cofnod. Mae'r tywydd wrth gwrs yn rhywbeth sydd yn digwydd "rwan", pryd bynnag yw neu oedd "rwan" i'r cofnodwr gwreiddiol; y bore yma efallai, diwrnod arbennig yn eich plentyndod, neu sylw mewn dyddiadur dwy ganrif yn ôl yn sir Feirionnydd.... efallai. Neu efallai bod cysylltiad y sylw a'r tywydd yn ymddangosiadol wan iawn: tylluan wen yn hela am dri o'r gloch y prynhawn ar ddyddiad arbennig o Chwefror; clywed y gog yn canu ddiwedd mis Mawrth; teilo cae at datws ddechrau’r gwanwyn. Tywydd....? efallai! Ffenoleg...? yn bendant.
Mae'r Tywyddiadur yn rhyngweithiol - hynny yw, mi allwch rhoi gwybodaeth i fewn iddo, neu chael gwybodaeth allan. Y cam cyntaf y byddwch yn cymryd wrth fentro ar y dudalen hon felly fydd dewis pa un rydych am ei wneud.... Chwilio ynteu Mewnbynnu (blychod chwilio ar y chwith mewn glas, blychod mewnbynnu ar y dde mewn coch).
(Ewch i’r gwaelod am ganllawiau cychwynnol).
CHWILIO: Chi biau’r dewis: mis neu gyfnod arbennig efallai, blwyddyn, gair (neu ddau air), neu ddiwrnod penodol (treiwch ddyddiad eich pen-blwydd). Cewch wneud cyfuniad o rhain.
MEWNBYNNU: Trwy fewnbynnu cewch ychwanegu at y gronfa a chreu adnodd mwy cynhwysfawr fyth i ymchwilwyr fel chi. Dim ond tri amod sydd ar eich cofnod: ei fod yn cynnwys rhyw fath o ddyddiad, lleoliad (bras neu fanwl), a bod y cofnod rhywfodd yn gysylltiedig â’r amgylchedd.

I walked over to talyllyn to fish, expecting a good day, but the wind was very boisterous with threatening rain. Of course I had great difficulty in managing a boat, and when Bob arrived by lunch time I felt fairly beaten by the elements… a walk up to Llyn [Cae?]: but found the wind bad enough there, so I returned to Talyllyn, and then home on foot, after a disappointing day. It turned out a terribly wet day. I attempted fishing in the morning, but could only catch two grayling: the river becoming very dirty and rising slowly…we started to walk to the keepers but pelting rain drove us in… The rain was very heavy this evening.

I started to the Mawddach…and began fishing [? Emlyn]… but found the river too low. I tried both Mawddach and Eden: and fished right up to the falls, but did not stir a fish, but caught a few trout with my trout rod. Rain came on during the afternoon, and as I was very wet I walked home across the hill by Nannau… Trout (Mawddach and Eden)12

Tried the Wnion till 8 o’clock: the river was in grand order for fly, but I only rose two fish- one very large. I started to the Mawddach at 8:30, and had a very disappointing days fishing: the river looked in perfect order, but in the Mawddach the fish were very sulky. I only hooked one and rose two or three others. I fished up to the falls and did not give up till seven o’clock… I met Bunbury on the Mawddach, and he had no sport: but I heard that two fish- one 8 ½ lbs the other 5 lbs: were caught up the Eden.

We reached the Mawddach very early. It was in worm order and I began fishing at Gethigemlyn (sic. Gelligemlyn) Owing to very heavy rain falling the river rose a great height, and came down in yellow flood. I fished steadily up one side to the top wooden bridge, and down the other: and had some good sport, the great difficulty [?] to find a pool fishable. I returned to Gethigemlyn (sic. Gelligemlyn) a second time and here had a bad piece of luck, as I hooked a fine [?] of about 6lbs and just as John Davies was going to get him in the net, the hook drew from the gut and I lost him. I walked home. My bag was: Sewin (Mawddach) 12 Eden 1 (1- 2 ¾ lb, 1- 2lb 3oz, 1- 1 ¼ lb, 1- 1lb Total weight 16 lbs 3oz) and Brown Trout 14.

A fine morning. I walked up Drws-y-Nant and met Kinsey there and we beat the greater part of Drws-y-Nant moor: and had the three young dogs and Bess out. But the coveys we saw and as a mile the size of the birds were not very encouraging. The young dogs worked well, especially Dover. I walked home, and at 5 o’clock went out on the Wnion to try for Sewin with small flies. A light rain came on: and I rose at least 6 sewin, and hooked three. I caught one fine trout… Trout 1 (Wnion) 15oz

Drove to the Mawddach, and found it in perfect order for fly, but the sun in the morning was at times troublesome. We had a very early start to Tyn-Y-Groes to fish up the Eden with small flies. My sport was remarkably good in the morning: but as a considerable amount of rain fell, when I reached the stone bridge pool, the river suddenly rose, and quite put a stop to my small rod fishing. The 3 line gave me great sport on such a small rod… I stuck the Eden nearly the whole time but only caught one more Sewin.. Eden. Sea trout 3 (1) 3lb (1) 1 ½ lb (1) 1 lb Trout 40.

I started over to Caeafon to beat that mountain with the dogs, and I met Kinsey on the hill: but we could not do much on [Penantigi?] owing to the thick mist, but it cleared a little when we got on Maes y Gamdda: we saw 4 coveys on this ground, and descended to Maes y Gamdda about 3 o’clock, and after being hospitably entertained by Richards we walked down to Dinas Mawddy.
