....It`s a wretched wet night, the weather has changed again, cold winds and rain all week. I`ve just had a letter from Harley he too complains of the heavy rains - how they come right through the roof of his dug out, rather annoying isn`t it especially if he`s asleep and you may be sure thats nasty colds are the result of these continental wetting. We went blackberrying last Wednesday [ ] & just as we were beginning to enjoy ourselves, down came the rain & of course there was a scamper for home, & by the time we got there we were pretty well soaked, but all the same we had managed to gather a nice lot of the fruit so that was some amount of compensation for our [....].
